As we are once again enduring a national lockdown, its time to ‘face the music and dance’ – with the little ones in the living room, kitchen or indeed in the garden! We are certainly not going anywhere anytime soon, so let’s get creative, imaginative, and let’s battle through lockdown with a smile from our fabulous cushion forts in the comfort of our living rooms!

Get out the creative box, get baking those buns, or wrap up warm and go in search of hidden treasure! The opportunities are endless for keeping the little ones occupied during this time of restriction.

Did you know, that assigning your busy bees little odd jobs around the house will teach them the importance of being responsible, especially when it comes to tidying their bedrooms with their own possessions. It can also help them to become more self-reliant – its a win, win situation!

Why not take advantage of the upcoming RSPB’s Big Garden Birdwatch (29th-31st January) by applying for an application pack online, and getting those little explorers interested in all the different varieties of birds that visit your garden in search of food.

Also, why not take the I spy adventure further afield to the local woods or park in search of our feathered friends.

Even though Wellies are not currently permitted to allow children to play with Play Doh, there is no stopping your children from showcasing their colourful masterpieces from the kitchen table! We would love to see your little one’s amazing creations!

Although you will no doubt be juggling a whole host of jobs and responsibilities whilst caring for your children at home, spending time together forms a strong, emotional bond that nurtures a healthy mind.

Through spending time with your children will develop a positive sense of self-worth and value that encourages communication and reinforces just enjoying each other’s company!

Lockdown will soon enough be over as time flies, so take this opportunity to dance, bake, laugh, and get covered from head to toe in glitter – enjoy!
